DO I HAVE TO HAVE A CAPTAIN? I HAVE MY BOATING LICENSE, CAN I DRIVE YOUR BOAT? ARE YOUR CAPTAINS SAFE/EXPERIENCED?
All our watercraft rentals require a JCI Captain. Check out our stellar Google Reviews to see that JCI prides itself in the vetting and training of all our captains to ensure that you can just sit back and relax while one of our qualified captains handles everything.
How far in advance should you book a boat?
During the week 2-3 days is normally fine. On the weekend 3-4 days in advance to get the boat you want. Holiday weekends (4th July, Memorial Day, Labor Day) and Spring Break book 2-3 weeks in advance.
Do your rates include fuel?
YES, We use premium Marine non-ethanol fuel, which is a bit more expensive than the gas in your car.
How old must I be to book a reservation?
You must be 18 or older to rent our pontoon boats
Do you provide life jackets?
ALL LIFE JACKETS ARE PROVIDED, including infant, toddler, youth, and adult sizes.
Age Required to Rent?
18 years old to consider powerboat rentals, 21 to drink. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
What times can we depart?
We operate from 9am-8pm. Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes ahead of your scheduled departure otherwise, the mandated check-out speech will eat into your rental time.
Where will our Kayaks and Paddleboards be delivered
JCI offers mobile services for our Kayak and Paddle Board businesses meeting customers at various locations or launch sites.
9 am is way too early in the Summer. Can I leave later?
Maybe. If it is a Fri-Sat-Sun reservation then get your lazy butt outta bed and be on time. If you want to sleep in - choose the afternoon slot.
Weekdays - Monday through Thursday there MAY be more flexibility depending upon reservations. Just ask us. During Winter we are very flexible.
What if I arrive late to my boat?
You have 60 minutes to arrive for your booking. After that, you lost your booking and no refund is given. We ask for you to call us if there is an issue with your booking.
If I come in early, will I get a refund?
Depends. If you came in early because you didn't like communing with Texas nature or got too much sun, then NO WAY! However, if the weather turned and WE come in early then we will pro-rata your time on the water.
How many people can we load on the boat?
The boats are rated according to the number of people or weight whichever comes first. If your total weight is over 2500 lbs, give us a call. Don’t forget to add any coolers and equipment. If your party consists of LARGER people, plan accordingly!!! Like the airlines, we have a scale!!! Overweight boats WILL NOT leave the marina, and NO, you can't pay for extra baggage!!!
May I take my dog with me?
Yes, However...
- Pet(s) count toward your total weight allowance (remember we have a scale!)
- Pet(s) life jackets are recommended for your animal's safety
- We DO NOT provide life jackets for animals
- Owner responsible for ALL damage caused by pet
- Please remember fresh water and a bowl for Fido!
May I fish from the pontoon boat?
Yes, but you will have to book it for only fishing. Most of our booking is for entertainment. Must have a fishing license.
What items should I bring for my rentals?
We recommend you bring the following items (Some Items are available for sale as well)
Water
Bug spray
Sunblock (No Spray if on Pontoon)
Snacks for longer outings
Cap/Hat
Breathable lightweight long sleeve shirt-wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet
Towel-expect to get a little wet
Plastic case/Baggie for personal items
Small insulated cooler with water/snacks for longer rentals
Expect to exert yourself
